Over dit evenement
Home of Participation: Artist-in-Residence Sharing Join us for an evening at 4bid Gallery as our current Artists-in-Residence share glimpses into their research and creative practices. Location: 4bid Gallery, OT301, Amsterdam Details: [Time 15:30 - 20:00 h / Donation] Through situations of experimentation, somatic insistence, and collective reflection, these three distinct makers invite the public into their ongoing artistic inquiries: Somer Şpat A multidisciplinary artist and cultural organizer from Prizren, Kosovo. Somer’s practice activates artistic research and collaborative projects to explore forgotten histories, collective memory, and the ways political and social processes shape our shared narratives. Nuka Horvat (they/he) A queer multimedia artist working across visual mediums and sound. Nuka investigates themes of queerness, social alienation, digital culture, and (post-)capitalism, focusing deeply on building cultural infrastructures for queer communities through publishing and collaborative art-making. Andrei Bessa A bixa, bear, fat performer and dramaturg from Northeast Brazil, based in Lisbon. Spanning dance, theatre, writing, and image-making, Andrei's practice uses insistence as a creative method to claim the fat body as a site of aesthetic invention, political friction, and improbable fabulations. About 4bid: Embedded within the independent cultural fabric of OT301, 4bid is a non-profit platform explicitly focused on the encounter between performance and visual mediums. Far from a traditional static exhibition space, 4bid operates as a living laboratory that prioritizes artistic research, WIP experimentation, and mutual knowledge exchange. By bringing the Home of Participation residency sharing into its body-focused, community-driven space, 4bid provides an unfiltered platform where the moving body and academic artistic research collide directly with the local community.
